We are looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager to help the General Manager in directing daily business operations. The Assistant General Manager should be experienced in a supervisory role, and be able to confidently deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives. The AGM must be able to competently perform duties in the absence of the General Manager.

To be a successful Assistant General Manager, you should eagerly participate in educational and training opportunities. The AGM must be able to engage, motivate and positively inspire staff, especially during times of low morale. A top candidate for this position must have strong leadership and organizational skills. The AGM should be firm, but also approachable.

Assistant General Manager Responsibilities:

• Cooperating with the General Manager and assisting with all aspects of the business from project/maintenance planning to team/staff management.
• Managing multiple sites and leadership teams.
• Nurturing positive working relationships with staff. Leading by example.
• Delegating daily tasks. Tremendous follow up and inspection skills.
• Addressing any issues in a timely fashion.
• Supervising staff and controlling costs.
• Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.
• Can immediately step in for the GM when needed.

Assistant General Manager Requirements:

• Experience in the Landscaping industry - strongly considered but not required
• Previous experience in a business, branch, outlet, or store leading a large team across multiple departments
• Degree in business administration or similar preferred
• Great interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities.
• Good observation skills & an ability to deliver constructive criticism.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office) and basic Math skills.
• Experience in reading a P&L and using financials to lead the business

There are some conditions we need to make you aware of:

• You must believe in and always maintain a safe work environment – we need everyone to go home every day to their loved ones - it’s a big deal.
• Working indoors and outdoors, in varying temperatures, humidity, noise, or lighting.
• Exposure to hazards, such as chemicals, electricity, or machinery/tools.
• Working as needed to lead the business. Mostly M-F but some random weekend time. The business starts early and does have seasonality to it over the year.
• The ability to lift 10-50 lbs. regularly and can stand, sit, and bend on a consistent basis.

Job type, wage & benefit information:

Job Type: Full-time

Exempt Role = $85,000-105,000 per year (based on experience) plus annual bonus
