Job Summary

Performs a variety of accounting services and transactions related to accounts payables and receivables.

Essential Job Duties

  • Records, classifies and posts account transactions.
  • Maintains records through filing, updating and purging in accordance with current record retention policies.
  • Creates accounts receivable invoices for janitorial and facility contracts and conference room rentals.
  • Process accounts payable invoices.
  • Ensures that a W-9 is on file for each vendor.
  • Ensures that invoices have been coded correctly and approved for payment.
  • Reconciles and verifies accounts payable invoices.
  • Coordinates with LLGI staff and customers to resolve invoicing issues and/or prevent accounting errors; validates transactions and performs research to resolve inconsistencies.
  • Records and summarizes daily retail sales reports and distributes to LLGI leadership; takes department minutes.
  • Serves as backup for Staff Accountant II for non-payroll related tasks.
  • Sells salvage loads to customers by negotiating with salvage customers on price.
  • Manages retail supply orders using google shared documents.
  • Purchases supplies for departments.
  • Manages purchase requests and purchase orders for proper approval and best price
  • Negotiates with vendors for goods and services for best possible prices and service guarantee.
  • Develops new supply sources when vendors are inadequate.
  • Examines, bids and makes recommendations to the VP of Finance
  • Contributes to team success by involving others in work processes, decisions and actions
  • Stays abreast of position-related knowledge and trends in area of expertise
  • Ensures the effective implementation of change management efforts

Education, Experience and Credentials

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to an Associates degree in accounting.
  • Requires three years of experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Requires the ability to compute mathematical calculations
  • Requires proficiency with the Google business platform and/or Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and advanced skills in Excel; and the ability to utilize other software such as payroll and point of sale. Knowledge of specialized accounting software is a plus, Dynamics GP is preferred
