At Lakeshore Day Camps the Camp Counselor’s main role is to help campers have a fun and safe day at camp! Camp Counselors spend the summer working with kids of different ages, engaging in a range of fun activities, events and field trips! A summer to remember for campers and counselors alike! This is an ideal job for anyone new to the work force and interested in working with kids. Required Skills:
Must have experience working with kids of all ages and be 15 years old.
Exceptional organizational, planning skills and are detail oriented.
Problem Solver & Self-Starter
Excellent Interpersonal skills
Proven ability to provide outstanding customer service
Ability to perform job duties with limited supervision/direction after training has been completed.
Must produce a high quality of product/work and remain focused in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions.
First Aid and CPR/AED certification (Child, Infant and Adult)
Physical Requirements:
Swimming daily.
Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Walk up and down 4 flights of stairs at a time.
Spend up to 4 hours outside in direct sunlight.
Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
Additional Expectations:
Be punctual and arrive to work on time, as scheduled
Possess and exhibit a good work ethic under stress
Meet with Camp Director for weekly 1 on 1 meetings
Always help to maintain a safe environment while allowing for a fun atmosphere.
Report any unsafe conditions or equipment to Camp Director
Be a problem solver. Identify issues, compile possible solutions, using good judgment decide and solve the problem.
Communicate all billing concerns, inquires, disputes with Camp Director to make sure she has all the information necessary before speaking to the member/guest
