Lake Champlain Maritime Museum is looking for an Office and Communications Manager to provide critical admin and technical support for the daily functions of the museum. This position is responsible for a range of non-profit administrative duties and is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the non-profit sector. The position will work across the museum’s departments and provide support for educational programs, public programs, museum store, and exhibitions. We are looking for a candidate with excellent organization skills, great attention to detail, and strong time management skills who can prioritize projects according to deadlines and urgency. Prior experience with non-profits is a plus but not mandatory, we are willing to help train and provide support for an enthusiastic and engaged candidate.
Basic Qualifications:
Duties & Responsibilities:
● First point of contact with Museum visitors, including general email and phone inquiries.
● Creating registrations for public and educational programs and coordinating with event staff.
● Posting and maintaining job listings across several different platforms.
● Supporting the basic IT needs of the Museum, including setting up/down email accounts, phone systems, Zoom/Teams, licenses, general subscriptions, and logins/passwords.
● Support of day-to-day office operations, including ordering & stocking general office supplies, managing maintenance for office equipment such as printers, copiers, etc, and purchasing new staff computers.
● Support for the Museum Store, providing basic coverage for lunch breaks and for staff vacations. Includes operating point of sales, receiving, opening/closing procedures and processing daily reports.
● Support for Marketing, including basic website maintenance and social media postings.
