POSITION SUMMARY
The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring the coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice, and hospital policy, goals, and objectives. This position assists in contributing to the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, educational, Performance & Improvement efforts while providing supervision to the nursing staff assigned to his/her unit.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required, or equivalent combination of education and experience in psychiatric nursing management; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility.
Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Illinois State Board of Nursing
Additional Requirements: Thorough knowledge of JCAHO, HCFA, OSHA requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements. CPR certification and successful completion of training in CPI within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
