Career and Professional Programs at LaGuardia Community College is seeking a part-time instructor to teach in the Construction Management Certificate Program. The construction materials and methods course is designed to educate adults about operations and materials presently being used in the construction industry. Emphasis is placed on understanding common practices, materials and nomenclature; interpretation of construction documents and plans; and equipment and methods used in construction.
Topics include wood and metal stud framing, heavy timber construction, structural steel, interior and exterior finishes, roofing and more.
Course Dates: Saturdays, April 6, 2024 - June 1, 2024 – 10am - 1pm
Course is Hybrid.
Requirements: -
- Must have at least 5 years of construction management experience.
- Skills in business, leadership, technical, communication, decision-making, customer service, analytical and time management; ability to take initiative and read technical drawing and contracts.
- Must have a Bachelors in Construction Management, architecture, engineering or other related field
