SUMMARY
- Acquires and maintains accurate information regarding employees’ injuries and, subsequently, employees’ follow up exams. Under supervision of medical provider, renders first aid to injured employees per department procedure manual protocol.
- Triages and evaluates injury severity for purpose of patient flow and treatment.
- Treats minor first aid wounds and does dressing changes with proper chart documentation.
- Responds and maintains radio contact with EMTs/Firemen on emergency calls.
- Prepares patients for exams and maintains back office flow.
- Answer telephones, takes and relays messages, answers questions related to the Medical Department. Performs related general duties such as filing and sorting.
- Responsible for archiving and inventory off all Medical records and x-rays for the Dept.
- Responsible for Respirator Fit-Test program, training and supervising of light duty staff in relation to Respirator Fit-Test Program. Ordering and maintaining supplies.
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent. Must have completed or graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant Program. Certificate in Medical Assistant.
- Venipuncture certified and CPR certified.
- 4 to 6 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or equivalent experience in front and back office.
