Position Overview :

La Sierra University is seeking enthusiastic and responsible students to join our team as Event Staff for the 2024 graduation ceremony.

This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a memorable experience for graduates, families, and guests.

Responsibilities :

• Direct attendees to water stations, restrooms, available seating areas, and other designated locations within the venue.
• Assist guests with finding suitable seating arrangements and accommodating special requests as needed.
• Provide information and guidance to attendees regarding event schedules, locations, and other pertinent details.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of event materials, including picking up chairs and other equipment at the conclusion of the event.
• Communicate effectively with fellow Event Staff members and event organizers to coordinate efforts and address any emerging issues promptly.
• Remain alert to potential safety hazards or concerns and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Provide assistance to guests with disabilities or special needs to ensure they can navigate the venue comfortably and access necessary amenities.
• Serve as a friendly and approachable point of contact for attendees, offering assistance and guidance as needed throughout the event.

Qualifications :

• Currently enrolled as a student at La Sierra University.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
• Reliable and punctual with a commitment to fulfilling assigned shifts.
• Previous experience in customer service, event management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Must be available to work 8-10 hours throughout the graduation weekend.
• Must be willing to work June 14, 15 and 16.

Pay Rate :

• The hourly pay rate for this position is $16.00 per hour.
