Job Description: Cannabis Retail Store Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Store Manager to lead and oversee the operations of our busy cannabis retail store. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management, a deep understanding of the cannabis industry, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service. As the Store Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the store's success by managing daily operations, fostering a positive and efficient work environment, and driving sales growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Store Operations: Manage all aspects of store operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, product displays, and cleanliness to ensure a seamless and inviting customer experience.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of budtenders and support staff, providing ongoing guidance, coaching, and performance evaluations to maintain a high level of customer service and operational excellence.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all local and state cannabis regulations, including age verification, inventory tracking, and security protocols, to maintain a legal and compliant operation.
  • Customer Service: Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service, offering product knowledge, recommendations, and addressing customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Sales and Revenue: Develop and implement strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets, analyze sales data, identify trends, and adjust inventory and promotional strategies accordingly.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, place orders with suppliers, manage restocking, and oversee product rotation to ensure a diverse and well-stocked selection.
  • Training and Development: Conduct ongoing training sessions for staff on product knowledge, customer service, compliance procedures, and sales techniques to enhance their skills and expertise.
  • Marketing and Promotions: Collaborate with marketing teams to create and execute effective in-store promotions, events, and marketing campaigns that drive foot traffic and boost sales.
  • Financial Management: Maintain accurate cash handling procedures, monitor expenses, and contribute to budget planning and cost control initiatives.
  • Report Generation: Prepare regular reports on sales performance, inventory turnover, and other key performance indicators to senior management.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and local community members to enhance the store's reputation and networking opportunities.
  • Security and Safety: Ensure the store's security measures are in place and followed, including surveillance systems, alarm systems, and employee safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience (X years) in retail management, ideally within the cannabis industry or a similar regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of cannabis products, strains, consumption methods, and industry trends.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Knowledge of local and state cannabis regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and trends to make informed decisions.
  • Proficient in using point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving industry and adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
