Description
Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit is growing! A well-established and leading law firm located in Illinois is seeking an in-office Staff Accountant II. This position will be responsible for a variety of accounting responsibilities. This position is an integral part of our cross-trained accounting department. We take a team oriented, customer-centered (including both internal and external customers) approach to accounting and are proud to be at the center of a successful company with superb employee retention. The standard business hours for this non-exempt position are 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday through Friday. This is a 100% in office position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
? Check and electronic payment handling; including review, batching, and entry into accounting software
? Invoice mailing, mail handling, and other physical processes
? Accounts payable
? Accounts receivable
? Review and processing of refunds
? Review and reconciliation of credit card transactions
? Billing
? Bank reconciliations
? Journal entries
? Possible additional cross training based on skills and interests
? Perform ad hoc accounting activities in support of firm’s requirements
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities
? Dedication to quality, detail, and accuracy
? Strong work ethic and positive attitude
? At least three (3) years accounting experience
? Superior time-management, organizational and prioritization skills
? Ability to communicate professionally and succinctly, including verbally, by email, and in written documents
? Must have a proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word
? Ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure
? Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
