Job Overview
The Strategy and Transformation Portfolio Senior Manger will serve as key member in the Strategy and Transformation Management Office (STMO) to enable the organization to shape and execute Komatsu North America's Strategies. This role will be a central orchestrator across senior leadership members to ensure the organization's work is strategically aligned to Komatsu's overall vision, support accountability towards established targets, and develop comprehensive plans to achieve key priorities.
Key Job Responsibilities
Alignment to Organizational Strategy Support senior leadership in developing planning and executing longterm strategic plans that align to Komatsu Limited and Komatsu North Americas Strategies and Outcomes
o Drive key strategic planning activities such as developing strategic frameworks key goals and objectives longterm roadmaps and facilitating workshops to generate plans and future aspirations
o Understand the market landscape of the business including customer needs and future growth areas to inform longterm strategies
o Ensure transformation programs and activities align with the overall strategic outcomes identifying direct links across the layers of work
o Support leaders in developing and refining key performance indicators that align to Komatsu North America Outcomes
o Monitor the progress of work towards Outcome targets adjusting plans to respond to changing market and organizational needs
Stakeholder Engagement Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders including executives senior leadership team leads and employees
o Promote open communication channels and collaboration to gain buy in and support for transformation initiatives
o Engage stakeholders throughout the strategic planning process incorporating their feedback and perspectives when implementing processes and frameworks
o Drive crosscollaboration amongst the business and supporting functions to solicit input to shape the direction and approach of key strategic programs
o Drive accountability across teams towards the established goals and objectives raising risks as needed and ensuring reporting reflects reality
Program PortfolioResource Management and Reporting Support senior leadership in crafting their annual budgets assisting in prioritizing work and driving discussions around tradeoffs when crafting budget requests
o Provide insight to leadership into financial forecasts and historical budget trends to help ensure the budgets for their respective areas meet budgetary requirements
o Support leadership in developing robust Program details to enhance the accuracy and quality of budget requests
o Support leadership in developing material and key messaging for executive read outs
o Driving action through Reporting Analytics Facilitate the review of Program data highlighting trends to drive datadriven decisions
Change Management Drive effective change management and communication efforts to ensure the success and adoption of Programs
o Partner with leaders to ensure the proper change impact and stakeholder assessments are completed to understand the impact of the program
o Identify targeted communications needed to engage stakeholders and manage expectations
o Collect feedback from stakeholders to tailor strategies to address issues or lack of adoption
Continuous Improvement Promote a culture of continuous improvement encouraging feedback learning and adaptation based on insights from transformation efforts Identify lessons learned and best practices to enhance future initiatives
o Identify areas of reusability across the organization to drive efficiencies
o Develop robust processes and standardization to bring consistency across the organization
o Drive attention to gaps where there is work that needs to be done to achieve organizational goals
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, quantitative or business field preferred. Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of work experience.
  • Proven strategic planning and execution skills applied to business problems in either corporate or consulting setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to bring together cross-functional leaders to facilitate discussions, resolve issues, and align on a path forward
  • Self-starter who identifies opportunities, addresses challenges, and can build and execute against an actionable plan
  • Has the ability to work in the details, while keeping the larger picture in mind and can effectively tailor messaging to different audiences
  • Ability to communicate a succinct story for senior management, including the CEO, COO, CFO to gather input and buy-in
  • Experience working with Digital stakeholders by supporting their development of digital transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment between their digital strategies and overall organizational Outcomes, and coordinating needs across other business units and functions
  • Possess a strong foundation in supporting leadership with financial analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting processes
  • Experienced in developing executive presentations and analyzing and gathering data insights (Excel, Power Point required)
