The Commercial Roofing Sales Account Manager is responsible for generating service and reroof business for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings. The Commercial Roofing Sales Account Manager meets sales targets by generating leads, promoting the company, developing client relationships, and growing service revenue sources.

The Commercial Sales Account Manager Essential Responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Utilizes the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to maintain an accurate record of all leads, client accounts and sales activities.
  • Communicates with clients and leads to identify and understand their needs; identifies, educates, and suggests services to meet those needs.
  • Cultivates and manages client relationships with key decision-makers in target accounts.
  • Regularly conducts site visits and assessments to identify sales opportunities for repairs and maintenance and reroofs.
  • Follows up on all outstanding proposals with the Estimating – Service/Reroof department.
  • Generates new business through prospecting and networking.
  • Follows up timely on leads.
  • Presents professional and comprehensive proposals, negotiates, and closes sales.
  • Communicates frequently with clients providing updates and proactively anticipates client needs and resolves client concerns.
  • Meets or exceeds sales targets and goals established by management.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and developments to better serve clients.
  • Consistent, effective involvement in trade shows, community and networking organizations participate in networking activities and events.
  • Collaborates with the marketing department to expand brand presence through the creation of suitable marketing materials.

The Commercial Sales Account Manager Non-Essential Responsibilities:

  • Identifies unsafe behavior or potentially hazardous working conditions and provides continuous training and coaching to others on Kodiak safety standards.
  • Continuously improves sales skills by attending company provided training as well as supplemental self-directed training to enhance the delivery of professional sales pitches.
  • Researches competitors' products and pricing as well as market conditions.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the position.

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or minimum of two years of related outside sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. Can summarize information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. Can express themselves spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating similar words or phrases in complex situations.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate knowledge of working with word processing documents, creating and managing spreadsheets, using databases, internet navigation, email communications, presentation/slideshows, and enterprise systems, and industry related software.
