A multi-business unit organization and is seeking a talented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their dynamic finance team. As an A/P Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and conducting thorough three-way matching.
Responsibilities of the A/P Specialist :
- Full cycle accounts payable, including data entry of invoices, processing, coding, and verification.
- Three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with team to ensure that timely payments are made in order to avoid late charges and negative impact on discounts.
- Assist in month-end closing activities, including check runs and filing.
- Reconcile vendor statements on a monthly basis
- Be willing to contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounts payable function.
Preferred qualifications of the A/P Specialist :
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist
- Must be able to correctly calculate discounts based on invoice terms.
- Strong eyes for details and accuracy
- Ability to manage a high volume of transactions.
- Strong problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards.
