Therafirm has an immediate opening in Hamlet, NC for a Product Engineer in our Knitting area!

What You’ll Get To Do

Our Product Engineer is responsible for assisting and leading the development of new and revised product designs, predetermined by company or customer specifications.

The Essentials

  • Develop and/or revise circular knitting machine programs using Graphitron software
  • Assists in transitioning of new and revised product designs from inception to production hand-off
  • Assist the process improvement teams with the analysis and redevelopment of products
  • Participate in spec reviews for final design transitions (or hand-off) to production
  • Provide expert analysis as well as feedback on proposed new developments and design revisions
  • Attend and participate in all assigned R&D department meetings, events, or training sessions
  • Maintain adequate personal as well as company record of new and/or revised knitting machine specs
  • Assist in and/or lead the validation or verification of new as well as relocated knitting machines
  • Present project status and work with upper management to ensure timelines are being met
  • Work with management to determine machine utilization and optimization
  • Assist R&D manager with projects specific to knitting
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Manage projects as assigned
  • Participate in training for knitting
  • All other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

  • 2-4 year technical degree in applicable field (Textiles, Engineering)
  • Technical knowledge of circular knitting, yarns, fibers, and knit structures preferred
  • Fundamental understanding of computerized/mechanical knitting machinery, parts preferred
  • Willing to travel up to 3 times per year, to include international travel
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training and assessment, which could include foreign travel
