We are a high-energy, fast-moving civil and employee rights law firm seeking a paralegal, legal secretary, or legal assistant to help with firm administration and managing our quickly growing caseload. Launched in April 2018, our firm was founded by former BigLaw attorneys who wanted to provide the same high-quality, attentive representation to wronged employees and consumers. We pride ourselves on having strong client relationships and aggressively achieving the best results for our clients.

The position involves significant client contact so we are looking for a friendly, client-focused candidate who projects our firm’s values, preferably with good oral and written English and/or Spanish language skills.

  • Drafting engagement and retainer agreements
  • Preparing demand letters and witness declarations with attorney supervision
  • Preparing discovery responses and requests
  • Analyzing document discovery and preparing for depositions and motion practice
  • Opening and closing case files
  • Calendaring court deadlines, statutes of limitations, and other case-related dates
  • Assisting with filings and working with process servers and filing services
  • Tracking case budgets and expenses

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn relevant legal principles
  • Ability to demonstrate sound ethics, judgment, and maintain the confidentiality of information
  • Ability to relate to people from varied backgrounds and fields of work

Candidates with at least a year of experience working at a civil litigation firm are strongly preferred. Candidates with less experience and a strong interest in the legal field are also welcome. Past legal assistants have gone on to top law schools and received support with the LSAT and applications from the firm and its attorneys. Longer-term employees have two growth paths within the firm: to paralegal and into firm administration.

Perks/benefits include flexible work schedules, option to work remotely part-time, PTO, medical, dental, and 401k after eligibility period.
