FRANCHISE BUSINESS CONSULTANT
Kilwins Chocolates Franchise is looking to hire a Business Consultant. This Business Consultant will serve locations in Maryland and south to Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. JOB SUMMARY
As a Franchise Relations team member, this individual will work collaboratively within the Franchise Support business unit. The Consultant will develop and maintain the primary relationship between Kilwins Chocolates Franchise and the franchise community, with broad accountability to each. Responsibilities include maintaining the integrity of the Kilwins brand by working with Franchisee/Store Owners for their assigned Kilwins stores to ensure protection of our brand standards and travel to assist with new store openings and transfers of ownership. As an ambassador of the brand, they must have a clear understanding of all Kilwins retail operation systems and how these systems support the Kilwins brand, as well as the ability to encourage and support franchisee business plan development and goal setting. They must possess excellent communication, organizational and planning skills, and be motivated by developing meaningful relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions
  1. Personally represents Kilwins Core Values, Core Purpose, Core Operating Standards, and Brand Promise.
  2. Provide integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes the culture, values, and purpose of Kilwins Brand.
  3. Through the development of meaningful relationships with each assigned store owner/operator, the FRSC will provide advice, counsel, coaching, and assistance to impact and improve the sales, profits, and operating standards of the business. 
  4. Successful fulfillment of Kilwins Brand Standards within all stores.
  5. Provide leadership and goal setting for the stores with the ability to effectively measure results and ensure achievement of short and long-term goals of Kilwins Chocolates Franchise, Inc., and its shareholders.
  6. Develop, implement, and maintain healthy relationships with store teams.
  7. Effectively communicate and document franchisee performance such as:
    1. Assisting stores with day-to-day operational issues
    2. Celebrate success and reward performance
    3. Setting store goals and measuring results
    4. Review Key Performance Indicators
  8. Perform regular impactful store visits to assess and assist with store operating standards and alignment with the “5-Star Wellness Consultation.” Brand Operating Standards include:
    1. Products – Products and Fixtures Furnishing and Equipment
    2. People – Customer Service
    3. Place – Store Environment
    4. Presentation – Merchandising
    5. Promotion – Marketing
    6. Financials
    7. Operational requirements such as on-time ordering, insurance requirements, etc.
  9. Work with, communicate with and support all business units cooperatively and effectively.
  10. Administers franchisee training, pre-opening and opening activities, store transfers and closures in conjunction with the Director of Learning and Development and Director of Franchise Store Support.
  11. Ensure store refresh or transfer requirements are completed prior to renewal or transfer.
  12. Track store operations and maintain performance dashboard.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. Excellent customer service skills, positive attitude, and the ability to occasionally work weekends and holidays.
  2. Skilled in multitasking, meeting deadlines, and effective conflict resolution.
  3. Competent in managing store operations and utilizing various online and support tools.
  4. Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
  5. Proficient in team-building and leadership, with a focus on coaching and mentoring.
  6. Experienced in handling confidential information and knowledgeable in food safety protocols.
  7. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to manage company documentation effectively.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
  1. Must be able to travel to stores as needed to support franchisees
  2. Must be able to occasionally lift 50 pounds
  3. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time in a retail store or training environment
  4. Must be able to travel by aircraft, drive an automobile, and have a valid driver’s license
  5. Must reside locally within region
Education and Experience
  1. Four-year college degree preferred
  2. Previous franchising experience preferred
  3. Proven track record of relevant accomplishments
  4. Proficient in Microsoft tools such as Outlook, Excel, and Word
