1 : 1 Support Staff assist in maintaining a consistent, therapeutic environment within the community or home setting. When clients are a risk or loss of stability, a 1 : 1 Support Staff will intervene with a support intervention in a manner consistent with the KidsPeace Model of Care.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Associate's Degree or two years in a Bachelor's Degree program required. Bachelor's Degree in Mental Health or related field preferred.

One year experience working with a similar population preferred.

Must possess basic personal computer knowledge and skills.

Must be at least years of age.

Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, flexible hours, and overtime as required.

JOB DUTIES :

Successfully recognize developing crises early in the pre-crisis phase and utilize or CPI procedures.

Assist in monitoring and transporting clients in both crisis and non-crisis situations, hospitalizations, court appearances, AWOL's, intakes and discharged clients.

Demonstrate knowledge of and effectively assist and / or carry out all emergency preparedness plans and procedures, fire, CPR, poison control, AWOL's, bomb threats, attempted suicides and all those situations included in the manual.

Successfully de-escalate clients in crisis using both verbal and non-verbal techniques.

Assist in ensuring safety and appropriate monitoring of clients.

Understand and implement individualized Safety plans as developed by the Multi-Disciplinary Treatment Team.

Help promote a culture of non-violence within programs by remaining restraint free.

Engage in positive activities and provide pro-social coaching to the clients during times of non-crisis.

Mentor new and tenured staff in a positive and strengths-based way.

Provide detailed information to supervisor for treatment team meetings.

All other duties as assigned by management.
