Kids in New Directions is Hiring an Executive Director Near Dayton, OH

Organization:

KIND is a purpose driven Christian non-profit that improves the lives of young people by building a foundation in Christianity through education and life experiences that will encourage them to change the world for good. Our mission is to love, care for, and accept young people by guiding their development through the love of God, academics, life skills, and health/exercise.

Role:

The KIND Executive Director is responsible to the Board of Directors and charged with leading and equipping the organization to effectively carry out its purpose and mission in a financially sound manner.

Responsibilities:

Day-to-day-

  • Lead KIND staff and volunteers in the delivery of programs and services in alignment with our purpose and mission across all locations.
  • Develop curriculums that are centered on biblical teaching, academics, life skills, and health/exercise.
  • Develop operational structure, procedures, and evaluation methods to ensure programs are effective and aligned with the mission.
  • Develop partnerships that connect children to educational and mentorship experiences and increase community involvement in programs.
  • Execute and measure operations and progress monthly. Build organizational financial capacity to expand programming to reach more children and deepen impact.
  • Recruit and supervise qualified staff, nurturing an organizational culture in alignment with KIND’s Purpose, Mission, and Values that results in quality programming, a safe environment for children, and high staff retention.
  • Oversee the security, condition, upkeep, and improvement of KIND’s physical assets.
  • Actively participate in area nonprofit groups and organizations (i.e. Summer and Afterschool Collaborative, Dayton SCORE training programs, etc.
  • Oversee purchases and submission of invoices and receipts for accurate bookkeeping and financial reporting.
  • Ability to back-fill drivers as required and pick up students from home or school and return them home.

Strategic-

  • Implement KIND’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Board to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Develop KIND’s annual operating plan and associated budget to meet Board approved programs, activities, and financial goals. Work with the KIND Treasurer to report the budget versus actual financial progress.
  • Work with the Board Development Committee to support fundraising activities. This includes foundation grants, individual donors, public speaking, special events, social media, newsletters, annual reports, and active relationship management.

Requirements:

  • 12 years working in the nonprofit industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field.
  • Master Degree (ideal, not necessary).
  • Clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a small organization.
  • Proven leader and mentor.
  • Superior organizational skills & understanding of industry standards.
  • Outstanding written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Practical experience using office automation tools; preferably Google’s Suite.
  • Practical experience using non-profit fundraising software; preferably Little Green Light.
  • Humble enough to dig-in with the team to get the job done.
  • A deep passion for working with children and families in need.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 40 per week
