The Out of Home Care Administrative Assistant is responsible for answering inquiries of potential foster parents and following up with initial foster parent applications. Direct callers to appropriate department or agency as needed. Assist with PRIDE orientation and training plans. Provide general clerical support as requested. Essential Functions
Receive all inquiries about fostering or adopting children from all sources (i.e. website, e-mails, calls, walk-ins, referrals from case management agencies or other agencies).
Make contact by phone with potential foster parents and utilize checklist to screen candidates generally within 48 hours.
Mail or e-mail application package within 48 hours of contact.
Record screening data in the Florida Intelligent Recruitment Project (FIRP) spreadsheet.
Assist with follow up on returned and outstanding applications tracking.
Assist with general clerical support as needed.
Provide relief coverage for reception desk as scheduled.

Education/Experience
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with 6 months to one-year experience required. Associates degree and one-year experience in the human services field preferred.
Licensure/Certifications
Ability to clear Level II Background Screen required by Florida Statute and DCF. Possess a valid Florida driver’s license and insurable by agency’s current insurance carrier. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to meet Organizational Required Competency standards
Excellent customer service skills
Strong time management, organizational and planning skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook)
Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
Knowledge and use of various office equipment (copier, fax, switchboard)
Excellent telephone etiquette
Work Environment/ Physical Demands This job regularly operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds.
