Under the supervision of the Director of Catering and Conferences Services, professionally and accurately coordinates the activities of the hotel’s various departments for all Weddings, Social Group Events, Day Groups and Special Events. This position is a management position and must be able to work flexible days and hours. She/he will act as a liaison between the client and the hotel staff from planning, through the function to follow-up post departure. Employee must contribute to a positive work environment.
Expectations & Responsibilities:

• Able to execute tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
• Effectively able to organize information and multitask in fast paced environment.
• The ability to observe and ensure that the highest standards are maintained and to work cohesively with other departments.
• The Primary Job responsibilities of the Catering Sales Manager Includes:

o Responding to guest inquiries in a timely manner
o Completes all banquet event orders, group resumes in designated timelines. Plans and meets with clients on planning sites and tastings.
o Actively solicits wedding business through all possible means available.
o Plans banquet services and menus and up sell variety of services and products.
o Prepares ancillary contracts (ie. golf, spa) and coordinates third-party vendor information’s as needed
o Distributes information to hotel departments and Town of Kiawah via forms and in meetings
o Remains on-site during the events
o Guarantee timeliness, accuracy and follow-up of event through final payment

• All other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of local area is helpful
• Must be able to communicate with proper grammar in English and provide legible and detailed communication
• Excellent telephone, Interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to multi task and prioritize assignments
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, Salesforce Sales and Catering System and Visual 1.
• Must have professional demeanor and have a friendly positive attitude
• Must have strong problem solving skills, attention to details and creativity.
• Past hotel or event planning experience preferred.
• College degree preferred.
• Food and Beverage experience strongly preferred.
• Computer training and typing skills required.
