Responsibilities

SUMMARY:

Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned suppliers, managing key aspects of supplier products through the product life cycle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

    Product management responsibility for full life cycle management of product/services.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned product family.
  • Maintain Market awareness and remain current with market trends and product changes.
  • Achieve targeted sales and margin targets for assigned product family.
  • Develop inventory stocking strategies for key vendors; design and execute programs designed at reducing overstock.
  • Set and maintain system pricing on new and existing items; monitor and adjust pricing based upon market conditions.
  • Maintain accurate product information in company management systems including website.
  • Work with suppliers to develop product training priorities and corresponding training materials and presentations.
  • Provide industry forum/trade show support, review all vendor content on company collateral and work with vendors on participation in joint customer events.
  • Work with vendors and company legal team to negotiate business terms on contracts.

Safety Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to, promote, and accept responsibility for compliance to Federal and Local Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, Industry Consensus Standards, and KGP Injury and Illness Prevention Program Manual.* Participate in job site safety/hazard analysis.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in telecom industry is highly desired but not mandatory.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the Company.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add and subtract 10-digit numbers, to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • No major critical thinking required. Work follows established job aids and business rules. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
