Overview

Position: Linux System Architecture
Location:Albuquerque, NM
Salary Range: $110,200 - $120,200 per year
Clearance: Clearable to Q

KeyLogic is seeking a Subject Matter expert for Linux System Architecture, supporting a major DOE National Laboratory. The mission of the enterprise operations services is to provide modern platforms for the Enterprise IT: container orchestration, virtualization, Linux configuration and patch management, infrastructure as code, and Linux and Window server systems. Design and operate technologies and processes to ensure IT systems are reliable, consistent, and secure throughout the lifecycle of the system.

Candidate must reside in the Albuquerque area as work will be performed on site.

Responsibilities:

On any given day, as a Subject Matter Expert for Linux System Architecture and related technologies, you may be called on to:

  • Provide technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environment, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on moderately complex problems that require an appropriate level of knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.
  • Apply principles, methods and knowledge of the functional area of capability to specific task order requirements, advanced mathematical principles and methods to exceptionally difficult and narrowly defined technical problems in engineering and other scientific applications to arrive at automated solutions.
  • Assist other senior consultants with analysis and evaluation and with the preparation of recommendations for system improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts in the following specialties: information systems architecture, networking; telecommunications, automation; communications protocols, risk management/electronic analysis, software; lifecycle management, software development methodologies, and modeling and simulation.
  • Deploy and maintain robust production Linux systems and Linux related technologies in accordance with established IT policies and guidelines for items such as security, networks, and filesystems.

Qualifications:

  • DOE Q clearance (not required to start)
  • Experience in Unix/Linux Server system administration and web cluster deployments
  • BS/BA with 3 years job related experience or lieu of degree 9 years of job-related experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in Apache, Ngnix, haproxy
  • Experience in Ansible for automation of provisioning and configuration of Linux services
  • Working knowledge of authentication methodologies such as Kerberos, PAM, LDAP
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, SS, DNS, FTP, SSH, and other common Internet protocols.
  • Familiarity or experience with virtualization platforms (such as KVM, ESX)
  • Familiarity or experience with Linux based container platforms (such as OpenShift)
  • Knowledge of CLI, scripting (Bash, Python), and searching/parsing log files
  • Experience with solving practical problems and system analysis of IT infrastructures.
  • Experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment.
