Overview
Encantado Technical Solutions is currently seeking a Linux System Administrator - Intern. In this position you will work with a team that provides computing capabilities and in-depth support for various applications. The team builds and maintains user environments, delivers subject matter expert support, and application-level software and tools to our clients.
Responsibilities
In this position you will:
- Perform Linux Administration duties
- Perform installations and patching of Linux operating systems
- Assist customers with the installation and updates of applications
- Install software and troubleshoot software install issues
- Monitor systems and preform hardware troubleshooting, tracking, resolution, and routine maintenance and security updates
- Perform system backups and provide data recovery
To accomplish this, you will need a background in Linux administration and issue resolution along with hardware/software troubleshooting skills. And finally, the ability to gain knowledge and understanding of best practices and IT operations.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- High School Diploma/GED is required for this position.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Q clearance.
- Ability to work up to 30 hrs/wk.
- Experience with system administration of Linux desktops, including building, configuring, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity or experience with system administration of Linux servers running RHEL and Ubuntu OS, including building, configuring, patching and troubleshooting.
- Experience with application support.
- Strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills.
