The ideal candidate must have very strong people skills, be adept in planning and organizing, self-directed, yet able to take direction and work as a team, be comfortable in engaging with people one-on-one to discuss, be willing to learn new information, and most importantly, be highly motivated.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • This position designs, updates, maintains, and analyzes the Kentucky Arts Council’s website, online registrations, grants management system and other web resources.
  • Performs and coordinates the work of others and/or graphic design projects in the creation, development, and production of printed, display, and web-based materials or products used in informational and educational programs including online meetings, webinars and video conferences, marketing and advertising efforts, promotional or retail use or similar purposes.
  • The position manages the functionality of the Kentucky Arts Council database, which contains historic and current information about the agency, its programs, fiscal operations, grants and participants, and was built and maintained in-house.
  • The position coordinates all technology related subscriptions and services, including the arts council’s grants management system utilized by more than 200 external applicants annually. The position builds all grant applications and reporting tools in the online grants management system.
  • The position coordinates all special projects with Kentucky Interactive to maintain artist directories and develop new online services.
  • The position provides technology support, develops policies, processes and procedures, and educates other staff on such, as well as makes recommendations to the executive director on these matters.
  • Provides direction in planning, organizing, and managing information resources in support of the agency's mission.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of systems analysis, business administration, or public administration experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Related technical or vocational training will substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. A master's degree in computer science, business or public administration will substitute for one year of the experience requirement.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in computer programming, systems analysis, information services, research and statistics, business administration, or public administration will substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
