Description
The Education and Labor Cabinet’s mission is to educate, prepare, train, and ensure the safety of Kentucky's current and future workforces. It is the mission of the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives to provide information access for the citizens, businesses, and agencies of the Commonwealth. In order to help the state maintain its competitive edge, the department offers comprehensive services which assure that our clientele has access to information resources: virtual, physical, and human. As one of 10 state agencies in the country to combine library, archival, and public records programs, the department is uniquely positioned to meet these needs.
We are seeking an analytical and customer service oriented individual to join our team as a Resource Management Analyst II. A passion for libraries, information literacy, and a dedication to quality customer service is highly preferred.
  • This position serves as State Data Coordinator for the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
  • The position prepares and submits the annual Public Library Survey (PLS) and publishes the annual Statistical Report of Kentucky Public Libraries.
  • The position communicates information to public libraries throughout the state regarding the PLS data collection tool, definitions, and instructions for submitting data.
  • The position provides technical assistance to public library staff, trustees, and library consultants in the areas of compiling and utilizing library data and statistics and current and emerging library technology.
  • The position evaluates library grant applications and assists grantees with grant applications.
  • The position designs and conducts live online and face-to-face trainings for public library staff in the areas of library data and statistics and current and emerging library technology.
  • The position educates staff in compiling and utilizing library data and statistics and promotes their use to plan budgets, develop services, and market the value of public libraries and the resources they provide.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of systems analysis, business administration, or public administration experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Related technical or vocational training will substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement on a year for year basis. A master's degree in computer science, business or public administration will substitute for one year of the experience requirement.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in computer programming, systems analysis, information services, research and statistics, business administration, or public administration will substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
