Description
The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The court system employs nearly 3,300 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks. The Department of Specialty Courts has an immediate opening for a Manager that will serve the entire state. Examples of Duties or Responsibilities:
Facilitate the operation of the statewide program in the absence of the executive officer
Coordinate with AOC departments and other governmental/private sector organizations to meet department needs
Ensure day-to-day management as it relates to staff, budgetary needs, and administrative details
Develop, interpret, and implement departmental policies and procedures statewide
Establish and adjust work procedures to meet mission
Produce reports, documents, grants, and materials
Ability to interact with the public, judges, attorneys, and government officials in a variety of situations and circumstances such as committee work
May conduct trainings and presentations
Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high pressure situations
Direct and manage staff's time and work duties
Responsible for overseeing and reviewing staff's work.
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Master's Degree including statistical and analysis research
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: 8 years of related experience
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Assoc. degree/10 yrs job related experience or HS diploma/12 yrs job related exp.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Effective communication skills - written and oral. Customer service focus in outlook and practice. Ability to prioritize tasks. Ability work with all levels of management and elected officials in court of justice as well as the private sector. Advanced computer skills.
Working Conditions
May include nights, weekends and holidays. Extensive statewide and overnight travel is required
