General Nature of Work
Thepurpose of this classification is to develop, implement and coordinate specialevents for the Parks and Recreation Department.
JOBRESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. The missionof specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from theclassification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment forthis classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Data Utilization:Requires the ability to evaluate, audit,deduce, and/or assess data using established criteria. Includes exercisingdiscretion in determining actual or probable consequences and in referencingsuch evaluation to identify and select alternatives.
Human Interaction:Requiresthe ability to work with and apply principles of persuasion and/orinfluence over others to coordinate programs or activities of a project, andresolve typical problems associated with the responsibilities of the job.
Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and MaterialsUtilization:Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions ofequipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essentialfunctions.
Verbal Aptitude:Requires the ability to utilize a widevariety of reference, descriptive, and/or advisory data and information.
Mathematical Aptitude:Requires the ability to perform addition,subtraction, multiplication, and division.May include counting, recording of counts, and basic measuring.
Functional Reasoning:Requires the ability to apply principles ofinfluence systems, such as motivation, incentive, and leadership, and toexercise independent judgment to apply facts and principles for developingapproaches and techniques to resolve problems.
Situational Reasoning:Requires the ability to exercise judgment,decisiveness and creativity in situations involving the evaluation ofinformation against sensory, judgmental, or subjective criteria, as opposed tothat which is clearly measurable or verifiable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations,Recreation, Event Management, or related field; supplemented by three (3) yearsof progressively responsible experience in public relations, marketing, specialevents coordination or related field; or any equivalent combination ofeducation, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge,skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgiadriver’s license.

Physical Ability:Tasks require the ability to exert lightphysical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting,carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
Sensory Requirements:Some tasks require the ability to perceive anddiscriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, taste, odor, depth, texture,and visual cues or signals.Some tasksrequire the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors:Essential functions are regularly performedwithout exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
