SUMMARY :
Under the immediate supervision of a certified classroom teacher, help meet physical and
instructional needs of students with moderate to severe disabilities in a self-contained classroom. Assist with the implementation of Individualized Education Program (IEP), including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Instructional Support
Consistently assist students with physical disabilities according to their needs including
transferring to and from wheelchairs; lifting; positioning; or assisting students with personal care such as feeding, bathroom needs, and personal hygiene.
Consistently assist with monitoring and maintenance of medical devices that are needed to maintain the health and safety of students, if applicable.
Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
Assist teacher in keeping administrative records and prepare required reports.
Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
