Description

The Print Service Associate provides vital support to the Keeneland Administrative Services Department executing print projects within timelines, anticipating and managing issues, analyzing production schedules, prioritizing work assignments, and troubleshooting problems during the printing process. Additionally, tasks involve collaborating on paper, binding, and color workflow options, ensuring required resources are available, inspecting finished work and performing minor maintenance on printing equipment. Finally, responsibilities encompass gathering and organizing completed work for delivery and maintaining stock levels of paper and supplies. This position is eligible for overtime. 

DESCRIPTION:

  • Assists in evaluating internal clients’ print specification and/or creative vision and provides value-added feedback on the feasibility and cost of delivering the desired finished product. Suggests creative solutions and/or other workarounds that are designed to meet client needs within the capability of Keeneland’s printing systems.
  • Assists with the execution of print projects to ensure they are completed on time and within internal client’s budget. Anticipates and manages issues and risks and recommends solutions. Documents and communicates project details and conducts final inspection of finished projects.
  • Assists in processing PDF and graphics files received via email, delivery, walk in, or other methods. Receives, processes, and maintains orders for wide format printers to perform color print services.
  • Assists with analyzing production schedules. Estimates hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Informs the Print Services Manager of any problematic requests. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Prioritizes projects accordingly.
  • Makes suggestions regarding paper, binding, production process efficiency, and color workflow options. Ensures required resources are available to complete jobs (media, fonts, graphics, etc.).
  • Troubleshoots problems that occur during job submission or the printing process. Inspects finished work for sharpness, density of line, position, count and sizes.
  • Performs preventative maintenance functions include cleaning, replenishing consumables, replacing filters and waste containers.
  • Receives, processes, and maintains orders for wide format and production printers, prioritizing work assignments based on customer needs, workload, and machine capabilities. Studies production schedules, estimates hour requirements for job completion, and informs the Manager of any requests that cannot be met.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Experience using large format color printing equipment.
  • Experience and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft 365 suite and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to process, comprehend, and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to operate or to be trained on fork lift operations.
  • Understanding of production schedules.
  • Knowledge of paper types, binding, and color options.
  • Experience with processing PDF and graphics file types such as JPEG, PNG, etc.
  • Experience in addressing customer complaints, providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability and experience in perform minor maintenance functions, including cleaning, replenishing consumables, replacing filters, and waste containers.
  • Past experience in using diagnostics to troubleshoot and correct image quality issues.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Trade School or College experience preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to write business and marketing correspondence with little oversight and effectively present information in one-on-one or large group situations. Must be able to communicate with confidence.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A Kentucky Horse Racing Authority License is required for all track workers.
