Job Summary

Owensboro Community and Technical College invites applications to apply for our part-time/temporary Childcare Coordinator position in the SkillTrain Department. The assignment period will be from approximately May 2024 to May 2025 with a high likelihood of annual renewal. This role will provide leadership and support to the refugee childcare support program. Regular tasks include scheduling and recruiting childcare volunteers, providing onsite childcare services for infants and toddlers, and working in a multi-cultural environment to support the English language acquisition skills of children and refugee parents. This position will report directly to the Director of Adult Education. Shift will be 8:00a.m. – 1:00p.m., 4 days per week.

Job Duties:

• Recruit, interview, and schedule volunteers to assist in a multi-cultural childcare environment.
• Maintain student and volunteer attendance records.
• Establish and nurture professional partnerships with our local and international partners.
• Plan, organize, and maintain classroom supplies and snacks.
• Clean and organize classroom learning aids, toys, and environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree (related field) and 1 year of related work experience, or equivalent.

• Strong MS Office Suites experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Strong problem-solving skills. Able to manage various issues and suggest new solutions to supervisor or others in handling unusual problems.

• Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment.
