Job Summary

Elizabethtown Community & Technical College is seeking a collaborative and innovative leader to lead and support student success and tutoring initiatives. The new Director of Student Success and Tutoring shall develop, direct, and oversee services and programs across the college to provide comprehensive learning services to support the retention and success of students at the college. In conjunction with Student and Academic Affairs, the director will set objectives for the Center that are consistent with institutional priorities to promote student success, ensure access, and enhance the educational experiences of all students.

Job Duties:

In conjunction with Student and Academic Affairs, the director will set objectives for the Center that are consistent with institutional priorities to promote student success, ensure access, and enhance the educational experiences of all students. The Director coordinates the Center’s services, programs, and outreach efforts. The Director helps to create conditions for every student to realize personal learning goals and work effectively at the highest levels of academic excellence and achievement. This position will report to the Chief Academic Officer.
• Provide leadership, oversight, accountability, and support for employee support, team building, tutoring, student activities, and student success initiatives.
• Establish the Center’s mission in concert with the support programs to create a cohesive environment that meets the needs of all students.
• Work effectively with a culturally diverse campus population, including those with different levels of academic preparation varying physical and learning abilities, and socioeconomic levels.
• Provides oversight to student activities for the entire student body at multiple campus sites including securing event facilities, publicizing events, organizing food, contracting entertainment, and recruiting volunteers for setup and tear down.
• Liaison between students and academic programs to optimize student engagement, retention, and success.
• Identify, implement, and evaluate programs that support student learning, retention, and success. Identify and secure internal and external funding resources to meet retention objectives. Assist in the development of grant proposals to secure external funding for retention initiatives.
• Refer students to appropriate academic personnel and support resources and collaborate with others to monitor and accelerate the student's academic progress.
• Supports the Dual Credit team ensuring Dual Credit students are informed of academic and non-academic support services.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff on developing and maintaining a comprehensive tutoring plan.
• Provide oversight and support as the Principal Investigator (PI) for student retention grants. The PI is responsible for reading, understanding, and overseeing the implementation of all information and instructions sent to the college from the grant sponsor, program directors/coordinators, KCTCS, the College’s Business Office, and the College’s Office of Grants and Contracts.
• Manages the department budget.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Services, or related field and three years of related experience, or equivalent.
