Job Summary

The Trade and Industry Division of Jefferson Community and Technical College has an opening for a full-time Automotive Instructor for our ASE Education Foundation MAST accredited General Automotive Program. (position will remain open until filled).

Job Duties:

This position will be responsible for instruction in Automotive Service Technology both online and in the classroom (daytime and evening), maintaining office hours for mentoring and coaching students, success and retention activities, and utilization of Blackboard for communication and feedback. This position will work with a team of faculty to develop strong external relationships with leaders in the automotive industry to address local workforce needs. This position may teach on multiple JCTC campuses.
Other duties include but are not limited to:
• Academic advising
• Course and curriculum development
• Internal and external community service
• Educational leadership and professional development
• Developing cooperative learning and internship partnerships
• Visiting local high schools and area technology centers to recruit prospective students

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Degree or Diploma program in Automotive Service Technology, or ASE Master Technician Certification (Automobile), or a minimum of 5 years of experience (with in the past 7 years) working as an automotive service technician / repair mechanic.
Additionally, within the first 5 years of employment it is a requirement to either currently have or earn a minimum of an AAS degree.
All automotive program instructors are required to be current on the following ASE certifications as a condition
of employment: A1-A8, G1, & L1.
Experience in, and understanding of the importance of, working with students from diverse backgrounds required.
