KCP Metal Fabrications, Inc. is Hiring a Quality Inspector Near Chicago, IL

ARE YOU SOMEONE WITH A STRONG BACKGROUND IN METAL FABRICATION AND EXCELLENT BLUEPRINT READING SKILLS?

Then join our small family run metal fabrication job shop as a quality inspector. Must be a good communicator who can work effectively with all levels of employees.

The ability to involve the floor operators with the quality process, and the changes that are needed to accomplish an improvement is a necessary skill. Competitive salary and benefits.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • First piece inspections including laser, CNC and press brake operations
  • Monitoring and enhancement of in-process inspection procedures
  • Final inspections as required and guidelines for application
  • First article documentation, as required
  • Enhancement of root cause and corrective action documentation
  • Monthly reporting of defects and actions taken
  • Decrease in overall scrap rates
  • Communication with top management on problems and actions to correct

Qualified Candidates Will Have:

  • Minimum of five years in metal fabrication
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Understanding and knowledge of the forming process
  • Ability to inspect a part using equipment such as calipers or micrometer
  • Familiarity with Prolink and/or Fabrivision a plus
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Hands on attitude where needed
  • Bilingual a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42.50 per week
