For more than 120 years, KASCO has been the industry leader in providing quality products, parts, repairs, and service to the meat processing and retail institutional food industries. Our cutting edge products include band saw blades, meat grinder plates and knives, and cutlery. We also offer a vast range of butcher supplies, seasonings, replacement parts, and repair services to grocers, restaurants, and meat, seafood, deli and bakery departments.

Key Objectives:

The Finance Director, Route Services position will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will have responsibility for reporting and analyzing of financial results for the Route Services business segment. The role will work closely with the segment leadership team providing financial decision support on a wide scope of operational and strategic matters impacting the achievement of the financial and operational objectives of the business segment.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support the annual budget process as well as periodic forecast updates for the Route Services business segment
  • Coordinates the reporting and analysis activities for Route Services business segment as well as coordinating with other finance departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Lead the Monthly Operating Review (MOR) for the Route Services segment
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial analysis focusing on commentary and interpretation of results to provide business insights
  • Assist with developing the appropriate set of performance metrics for the business and then report and analyze these metrics on a consistent basis
  • Stay abreast of the economic and business trends in the industry
  • Provides relevant data, analysis and fact-based recommendations
  • Identify and document improvement opportunities, creating guidelines and directives; identify potential improvement based on best practices and knowledge of internal/external business challenges
  • Determine investment requirements for the business segment, make the appropriate recommendations and financial return projections for capital investments and decisions.
  • Provide support for special projects/analysis within the business segment and finance teams

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree required with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred
  • At least 10 years of combined finance and accounting experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a controlling/business finance position with demonstrated success.
  • Ability to develop knowledge of and work directly in ERP systems to extract information and identify opportunities to leverage systems more effectively
  • Experience with Power BI a plus
  • Strong business acumen and judgement
  • Business analysis, financial planning and reporting skills that generate business insights that add measurable value
  • Current knowledge of trends in finance and functional best-practices
  • Ability to manage by influence
  • Excellent interpersonal , communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment and capable of gaining commitment and coordinate action for initiatives
  • Ability to have effective working relationships across the company
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced computer skills with MS software (Excel, PowerPoint)
