Position Overview:

Kapur & Associates is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Surveyor in the St. Louis, MO area. As a Construction Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects by leading and executing construction staking and layout work. You will work closely with the regional survey manager and collaborate with various teams within the organization to ensure precise and accurate survey data for successful project execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Construction Staking and Layout: Take the lead in conducting precise construction staking and layout activities, ensuring alignment with project specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Survey Data Collection: Utilize advanced surveying equipment, such as Total Stations and GPS devices, to gather accurate field data, measurements, and geospatial information relevant to construction projects.
  • Site Analysis: Conduct comprehensive site analysis and survey to identify potential obstacles, boundaries, and any other factors that may impact the construction process.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure seamless communication and synchronization of survey activities with ongoing construction work.
  • Quality Control: Implement precise quality control procedures to verify the accuracy and reliability of survey data.
  • Problem-Solving: Address survey-related challenges and discrepancies promptly, proposing viable solutions to ensure construction progress remains on schedule.
  • Safety Compliance: Prioritize safety at all times, adhering to established safety protocols and guidelines while working on construction sites.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of survey data, project progress, and any changes or updates throughout the construction process.
  • Technology Integration: Stay updated with the latest surveying technologies and tools, recommending advancements that can improve surveying efficiency and accuracy.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior surveying staff, assisting in their professional development and growth within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Surveyor, with a track record of successfully leading construction staking and layout work.
  • Proficiency in using surveying equipment, including Total Stations, GPS devices, and data collectors.
  • Strong understanding of construction plans, engineering drawings, and surveying methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Solid knowledge of survey field software.
