Kansas Department of Revenue - Customer Rep Specialist
Full-Time/Benefits Eligible - M-F 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Summary: This position is in the Corporate Unit of the Customer Relations Core Process. Educates customers in person or by phone of applicable laws, policies, procedures, services, and resources. Provides customer with information regarding status of records, tax returns or other transactions. Provides guidance on options to correct deficiencies problems or errors. Performs account management on accounts involving business entities of C-Corporations, S-corporations, sole proprietors, federal government, other government agencies, limited liability compensation, limited partnership, and franchise tax. Conducts the processing of business applications, returns, remittance and refunds. Performs account adjustments, abatements and/or assessments. Provides customer education in a professional manner. Ensures customers' needs are met in a professional and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Qualifications: Two years of experience in interviewing, investigating or providing technical assistance to clients, customers, or the public, and two years of experience or education in auditing or accounting support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Experience: A good working knowledge of personal computer and keyboard. Basic knowledge of ASTRA Tax Processing (ATP) or income tax history preferred.
Preferred Skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, proofreading, editing, and attention to detail.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: KBI and FBI fingerprint required due to access to Federal Tax Information files in KDOR systems.
