Project Manager

We are seeking a Project Manager to join our growing Construction Services team. The PM is responsible for the daily management of our renovation’s projects in the Chicago region. The PM will report to the Operations Manager.

The ideal candidate should have SFR/REO renovations experience, enjoys travel, must have attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with fixed deadlines.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Scope new projects for estimates
  • Schedule and manage assigned projects to include effective communication with crews, general contractors (GCs) and vendors to ensure projects meet designated timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings with subcontractors to review job scope and schedule, set quality expectations, and identify potential challenges.
  • Provide subcontractors the necessary support to keep construction progressing.
  • Oversee project schedules to ensure strict timelines are met, jobs are in sequence and coordination of multiple vendors is completed effectively. Provide conflict resolution as needed.
  • Regularly make trips to inspect projects to verifying work in progress is proceeding and/or completed with company specs and quality workmanship.
  • Punch properties and ensure all punch list items are completed timely and properly addressed.
  • Ensuring company’s quality and standards are met.
  • Work closely with the project coordinators to ensure proper coordination is achieved.
  • Maintain close relationships with GCs and vendors and serve them honestly and fairly.
  • Work closely with fellow departments such as estimating and purchasing.
  • Utilize our internal project management systems to manage tasks, schedules, updates, and photos.
  • Sourcing local vendors

Professional Qualifications & Skills:

  • Residential renovation experience
  • Ability to deliver to deadlines for multiple concurrent projects
  • Accountability, work ethic, pride in performance, and commitment to deadlines
  • Strong project management skills
  • Team player, with strong sense of ethics and fairness to all parties
  • Ability to improvise on the fly.
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities, and proactive management skills
  • Ability to work in spreadsheets and commitment to learning new software skills
  • Ability to communicate in an efficient and professional manner

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of standard computer systems and ability to adapt to new software.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Good understanding of MS Project, Word, and Outlook
  • Good understanding of utilizing web resources.
