Justworks is Hiring a Remote Team Lead, People Operations

Who You Are

We’re looking for a strategic leader and hands-on doer to lead our newly formed People Operations team. As part of the People Operations and Systems function, this role will be responsible for designing, documenting and implementing the delivery of all frontline People processes from pre-hire to retire. This role will manage a small but mighty team of People Operations Coordinators who support employee and manager self service of all frontline People processes.

At Justworks we use Workday as our HRIS platform, and the Team Leader of People Operations will be at the frontline of ensuring our data, and people process needs are being accurately and efficiently supported by the system. In this role, a successful leader will have a keen eye for process efficiency and continuous improvement, ensuring how we are delivering the People Strategy is best in class. Your Success Profile

What You Will Work On

  • Manage a team People Operations staff. Direct and oversee their work, and act as an escalation point for People Operations issues.
  • Manage and direct all People Operations activities, including ensuring all employee lifecycle processes are delivered accurately and within control guidelines 
  • Play a key role in understanding Justworks people processes across the organization and identifying ways systems and processes can be improved and consolidated 
  • Provide input and act as consultant to People Operations and Systems strategy
  • Work with leaders across the business to understand their specific employee needs and implement changes on the People Operations team to support these business needs
  • Proactively identify opportunities for automation and system improvements to support our end to end processes, and work with the People Systems team to implement 
  • Collaborate with each team member to define career goals, provide necessary resources and support, and conduct regular check-ins to facilitate career growth.

How You Will Do Your Work

As a Team Lead, People Operations how results are achieved is paramount for your success and ultimately result in our success as an organization. In this role, your foundational knowledge, skills, abilities and personal attributes are anchored in the following competencies:

  • Systems architect - can configure Workday processes and modules to meet the needs of the people team and the business
  • Clear communication - the ability to articulate thoughts and express ideas effectively using oral, written, visual and non-verbal communication skills, as well as listening skills to gain understanding.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of hands on people leadership, preferably at a company that has experienced significant growth
  • Experience managing an operations team, delivering frontline customer support
  • Experience using Workday preferred 
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects and multi-task
  • Process improvement mindset and the ability to use data and metrics to drive decisions
  • Proven ability to build trust and healthy relationships across an entire organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and high social and emotional intelligence

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at at $92,000.00 to $101,200 per year.
