Judy's Island Grill is a family-owned and operated restaurant that has the most authentic Jamaican cuisine around town:) We are currently recruiting for one FT Line Cook at our location in Glen Burnie.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Caribbean Cuisine Line Cook helps to deliver quality cuisine and create a superb experience for our dining in & carry-out guests. The incumbent also works closely with the Kitchen Manager to forecast and manage menu requirements and inventory.

  •  Prepares and cooks all menu items and orders in accordance with recipe guidelines and specifications
  • Preps food and prepares all ingredients needed
  • Maintains and stocks designated station, freezers, refrigerators and store room with food products daily to ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients; follows proper rotation system and notifies management of any discrepancies or shortages
  • Cleans food preparation equipment and work areas according to health and safety guidelines to include cleaning counters and tables
  • Adheres to all company, safety, and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Communicates with servers, customers, and management according to the company’s customer service standards
  • Performs all closing duties of the kitchen daily as determined by Kitchen Manager

Requirements:

§ 3 years of Jamaican cuisine experience

§ 2 years high volume experience in management

§ 2 years restaurant industry experience

§ Demonstrated success in building relationships among team members and leadership

§ Knowledge of cost and labor systems

§ Excellent time management and organizational skills

§ A valid driver’s license

§ ServSafe Certification

§ Ability to communicate in English

§ Eligibility to work in the United States

Physical Requirements:

§ Constant standing and walking throughout shift

§ Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs

§ Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting

§ Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
