Position Description:
JTEC Consulting is hiring a Jira Developer/Jira Administrator to support a Service Desk Platform. Prior experience with Jira software and Atlassian Tool Suite is required for consideration. Qualified candidates will have experience developing solutions for high volume and low latency applications working with Python, Groovy, HTML, Java, and .NET. Prior experience with Jira testing and experience supporting automation for Jira is required. This position requires abilities to excel in a dynamic work environment. Experience supporting a large-scale data platform or data analytics environment is a plus!
Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Work as part of a collaborative team supporting both client-side and server-side software for a large-scale data analytics platform.
- Support a blended team of government and contractor staff and interact with the client to understand user requirements for developing a new system and translation into overall architecture to implement new systems.
- Support program deliverables and performance metrics across work assignments
- Analyze user needs and develop solutions to create and modify applications
- Support database development initiatives including analyzing and designing databases within an application area
- Provide technical support and Jira administration and maintenance (configuration, workflows and schemes)
- Support Jira development and testing integrations with third-party systems using Jira REST API
- Bring a service-focused mindset to the work environment
- Contribute innovation and problem solving ideas to the team
- Provide after-hours on-call remote support
- Other duties as assigned
Education and qualifications include (but are not limited to):
- U.S. citizenship
- Current Secret clearance (at a minimum) is required for consideration
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline is preferred
- Equivalent years of related experience will be considered as a substitute
- Current certification to meet DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 compliance (such as CompTIA Security )
- Experience in Jira Development and Jira Service Desk administration is required for consideration
- 2-6 years of experience working with Jira and Atlassian Tool Suite in the areas below
- Experience with Jira product administration, Jira service desk configuration, and monitoring system operations including:
- Working with Jira Query Language (JQL) for dashboards and reporting
- Managing Jira product updates, plug-ins, and patching (including interacting with Atlassian support)
- Working with customization, mapping, and automation for RBAC
- Maintaining and supporting workflow schemes (permission, notification, screen, etc.)
- Supporting security procedures and interacting with program team for infrastructure, security, DevOps, applications, and data
- Experience with Jira development and testing integrations between Jira and 3rd-party using Jira REST API
- Experience with ScriptRunner for Jira and Jira automations writing custom conditions, validations and post functions
- Experience with security procedures and infrastructure
- Experience with change management and configuration management procedures and policies
- Availability to support hybrid on-site schedule
- Availability to provide remote on-call after hours support
Preferred experience includes:
- Customer-focused service level customer service desk support skills
- Knowledge of Postgre SQL database concepts
- Knowledge of AWS cloud services and configurations
- Ability to apply analytical skills to understand abstract functionalities from specifications
- Experience working with GitLab in a development environment
- Knowledge of ITIL and process improvement
