Firmwide AI Management is seeking a talented candidate to lead Firmwide Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Oversight & Regulatory Responses. This is a high exposure role critical to support JPMC’s industry-leading best practice in developing and deploying AI/ML responsibly, satisfying regulatory expectations for transparency and strong governance, and enabling continued adoption of AI/ML in the LOBs/CFs. 

As a Strategy Director, you will deploy their subject matter expertise of AI/ML related practices, regulatory supervisory frameworks, and risk & control management in a high exposure, dynamic environment. To deliver in this role, the candidate must have a strategic and commercial mindset, first class relationship management and communication skills, and a desire to shape and influence JPMC’s strategy in AI/ML governance.

Job responsibilities:

• Preparation, planning and execution of firmwide AI/ML related engagements, collaborating directly with senior leaders across the CAO, risk and compliance, controls, and the business. Such engagements include, but are not limited to, exams, focused reviews, quarterly updates, surveys, and questionnaires.
• Provide comprehensive and consistent reporting of exams, issues, priorities, and commitments to increase transparency and serve as the Subject Matter Expert and Primary Point of Contact on regulatory matters and emerging regulatory issues impacting AI/ML 
• Drive exam management best practices and increase transparency and accountability across AI/ML related stakeholders: e.g., managing senior management review, scoping consistency, and providing guidance to regional partners related to AI/ML engagements
• Work collaboratively with stakeholder groups leading the firm’s AI/ML policy discussions to identify upcoming regulatory changes and plan for the firm’s approach to such change.
• Ensure best practices and requirements related to laws, rules, and regulations continue to be folded into JPMC's existing risk management framework (RMF)
• Support day-to-day program management of Firmwide AI Oversight & Governance, including management of governance forums, tracking of and contribution to closing relevant action items, delivery of AI/ML related metrics and reporting, escalation of above threshold items through the risk management framework 
• Collaborate with stakeholders and management to Identify strategic improvement opportunities related to AI Oversight & Governance across JPMC and work with LOB/CF risk and control partners to develop plans to execute those enhancements
• Collaborate with LOB's & Corporate Functions on AI governance activities, including reporting and disposition of AI/ML related metrics at designated governance forums, development and monitoring of policy & standard related implementation plans
• Support ongoing maintenance of Firmwide Standards, Policies, and Procedures related to AI/ML
• Lead working groups, problem solving and brainstorming sessions that prepare analysis to support leadership decision making related to AI/ML oversight & governance
• Develop strong relationships with key AI/ML related functions firmwide, establishing a deep network and understanding of the firmwide AI/ML landscape and support development and rollout of firmwide AI/ML oversight & governance related training offerings and communications

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

• 10 years of experience in consulting, business management, risk, analytics, or hands-on program management in a complex and dynamic environment within financial services
• Expert knowledge of and significant experience with regulators’ exam processes and regulatory matters
• An interest in AI and Machine Learning and familiarity with AI/ML related risk management frameworks
• Strategic mindset with deep intellectual curiosity
• Exceptionally strong relationship management and executive-level communication skills
• Ability to define and drive a delivery roadmap inclusive of milestone deliveries and the associated status reporting
• Self-starter and must be able to perform duties with moderate to low supervision
• Anticipates and resolves issues with a sense of urgency
• Adapts to a rapidly changing business and technical environment
