The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) at JPMorgan Chase is responsible for accelerating the firm’s data and analytics journey. This includes ensuring the quality, integrity, and security of the company's data, as well as leveraging this data to generate insights and drive decision-making.

As a head of Data Governance within CDAO, you are a key enabler to the firm’s ability to identify, manage and measure the risk around data. It is a core pillar and mechanism that allow the Firmwide CDO team to centrally influence the mitigation of data risks and help drive key priorities. Additionally, it enables us to assess whether the firm is managing and mitigating data risk to the lowest level practical and operating within risk appetite. The CDAO is also responsible for developing and implementing solutions that support the firm’s commercial goals by harnessing artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to develop new products, improve productivity, and enhance risk management effectively and responsibly.

 Job responsibilities:

• Establish the firm’s Data Risk Management framework and collaborate with the Chief Data Office organization across the firm to drive consistent implementation
• Provide leadership with recommendations for enhancements to the overall Data Governance structure across the firm
• Maintain the Firmwide Data Risk Management Standard which outlines requirements for management of data risks
• Partner closely with Control management, 2LOD, and 3LOD to define and implement Data Governance control strategy for the firm
• Oversee activities necessary in support of data risk management for the firm to operate within risk appetite 
• Design and deliver data risk metrics for identification and measurement of data risks, and provide governance and oversight on metrics trends and remediation status
• Oversee executive reporting for Data Governance updates to senior management governance forums, including control committees, Operating Committee, and the Board
• Represent Firmwide CDO in US and global regulatory engagements on Data Governance
• Manage a team to drive execution on data governance initiatives

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

• 15 years’ experience with Bachelor’s degree with in data/risk management, business controls, or technology controls. Masters degree preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of control and risk management concepts with the ability to evaluate controls, create procedure and process flows in conjunction with business and control partners
• Data governance subject matter expertise preferred
• Experience implementing firmwide policies and standards
• Experience managing a team across various locations
• Excellent senior stakeholder management skills and experience coordinating across a wide range of functional teams
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate complex issues concisely, communicating effectively and comfortably with senior stakeholders
