Commercial Banking delivers extensive industry knowledge, local expertise and seamless global capabilities to clients—including corporations, municipalities, financial institutions, real estate investors and owners, and not-for-profit organizations where we offer a comprehensive set of financial products and services including credit, asset-based lending, real estate finance and treasury.

As the Communications Manager you will lead the development and execution of communications strategies to support our work with Diverse-, Woman- and Veteran-Owned Businesses (DWVOB) within Commercial Banks community impact efforts. Working closely with the Head of Community Impact Banking Communications, you will focus on storytelling and working with the Diverse-, Woman- and Veteran-Owned Business team to demonstrate the impact we have in our communities. In addition you will support internal and external activities, including media relations, social media, speaking engagements, event support and work across several cross-functional teams, while supporting multiple senior executives. 

 Job responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute internal and external communications strategies to support Diverse-, Woman- and Veteran-Owned Businesses business objectives and initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader Commercial Bank and firmwide business and communications strategies
  • Provide input to senior executives as they create Diverse-, Woman- and Veteran-Owned Businesses strategy and guide local bankers on strategy execution across markets
  • Manage and maintain key internal communications channels such as the intranet, newsletters, organizational announcements and town halls and identify opportunities to modernize communications, improve processes and lead efficiencies
  • Track key performance metrics to report on results
  • Manage Diverse-, Woman- and Veteran-Owned Businesses editorial calendar to ensure a strong pipeline of relevant and timely content, both internally and externally
  • Create, edit and maintain quality control of communications content, including articles, videos, etc; support the businesses with preparing presentation materials, talking points and training/best practices 
  • Advise senior executives on communications and speaking opportunities ; manage communications for marquee events, sponsorships and marketing campaigns
  • Generate ideas and identify key moments in time for creative storytelling and thought leadership opportunities
  • Partner with colleagues across the firm to ensure strategic alignment and leverage the firm’s breadth of community impact and DEI resources
  • Generate organic social media opportunities for executives, to amplify earned content, and to showcase local market initiatives; track key performance metrics to report on results
  • Must be willing to travel up to 20% as necessary

 Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, plus 6 years of relevant experience
  • Strategic communications experience that has leas business impact
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and be accountable for multiple ongoing projects 
  • Talented storyteller with the ability to identify and tell compelling, impactful stories; outstanding writing skills and ability to simplify complex subjects
  • Strong executive presence 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships; must be able to work closely with executives
  • Experience working in fast-paced, matrixed environments with minimal supervision
  • Team player that is self-motivated, entrepreneurial, effective under pressure and flexible
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong desire to creatively problem solve and ability to deal with sensitive/confidential matters; sound judgement 
  • Proficient in Microsoft (including Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Knowledge of basic SharePoint and intranet technology
