Preschool Substitute Teacher

Joyous Town Preschool is seeking a motivated, supportive and passionate substitute teacher. We are a year-round preschool, running from September to August.. We are a Montessori and STEAM based preschool whose mission is to provide high-quality education and safe environment for the children.

Applicant must be organized, able to multitask and able to collaborate with coworkers, children and families. Trainings and continuing education support provided.

Some of the dutiesinclude but are not limited to the following:

• Assist the classroom teachers in maintaining a healthy, safe, and warm classroom environment through effective supervision and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Assist the Lead Teacher in delivering weekly lesson plans by preparing materials, organizing supplies, and helping keep children on task.
• Assist children with potty training, or diaper changing as needed or every 2 hours.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, children and parents
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• DCYF Merit Portable Background check
• TB test (proof of negative result)
• Food Handlers Permit
• First Aid and CPR (including infants) certification (in-person training)
• Proof of MMR immunization

Staff Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required or ECE preferred
• One year of childcare experience
• Child Care Basics 30 Stars Hours
• Passionate about working with children
• Positive and patient demeanor

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.75 - $20.50 per hour
