Vice President, Finance

Full Time, 4-day work week, 36 hours per week

Job Overview: 

Under the direction of the President/CEO, the Vice President of Finance administers, coordinates, and controls Clinic fiscal services. The Vice President of Finance directs and has managerial responsibilities for general accounting, patient billing, budgeting, reimbursement, tax functions, AP, purchasing, payroll, and overall operations of the finance department. This role will also supervise the finance department.

Duties: 

  • Responsible for the Clinic’s fiscal operating results, financial reports, and statements, and administration of its accounting practices and systems. Responsible for reporting monthly financial performance to the board, and serving as an administrative liaison to the board’s governance (audit subcommittee) and finance committee.
  • Supervises finance department, billing department and audit. Manages human resources in these departments to ensure quality services and promote positive employee relations.
  • Directs all fiscal activities including accounting, budgets, audit, taxes, the preparation of regulatory agency, governmental and grant reports, cost analysis, and the systems and procedures necessary to insure and maintain efficient financial control. 
  • Prepares and presents corporation budget to the finance committee and for board of director’s vote; responsible for adherence to budget allocations. 
  • Contracts with independent auditors for development of cost reports and preparation of the annual audit. 
  • Collaboratively participate in the preparation of contracts and the development of proposals, reports, and negotiations with funding partners. 
  • Responsible for planning for ongoing enhancement of current financial information systems; provide oversight of maintenance of information system.
  • Assists President/CEO in strategic and long-range planning to meet current and future goals and objective of the Clinic. 
  • Responsible for the fiscal management of the finance, billing, and audit departments; ensures proper utilization of organization’ s financial resources.
  • Responsible for department’s operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and professional standards.
  • Responsible for hiring and conducting performance evaluations for subordinate staff and implementing all personnel actions in accordance with corporate policy.
  • Promotes effective working relations and work effectively as part of a team to facilitate the Clinic’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 

  •  Bachelor's degree in accounting or business related field. 
  •  3 years experience in a senior level position. 
  • Certified Public Accountant. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  •  Master’s degree in accounting or business related field.
