Joint Council For Economic Opportunity is Hiring an Energy Services Auditor/Maintenance Worker Near Plattsburgh, NY

JCEO is a private, not-for-profit human service agency that serves the residents of Clinton and Franklin Counties in New York State. All programs are based on JCEO's mission to alleviate poverty through practical, timely, and innovative services that emphasize and develop problem-solving skills for people.

The Energy Services Auditor/Maintenance Worker conducts energy audits and prepares the work
scope for the crews engaged in Energy Services’ projects and/or Maintenance.

Full-Time, Non-ExemptLocation: On-Site
Hourly Rate of Pay: $23.91

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Conducts energy and health/safety audits.
  • Completes appropriate forms documenting the energy efficiency of an audited building
  • Prepares a complete schematic of the building to be weatherized and the work scope for each job.
  • Collaborates with the Energy Services/Maintenance Director and Energy Services/Maintenance Clerk in
  • scheduling of jobs.
  • Complete necessary JCEO and Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) reports.
  • Contacts subcontractors to arrange pre-approved work and follows-up to insure the completion of said
  • work.
  • Complies with all health and safety regulations, including Occupational Safety & Health
  • Administration (OSHA) requirements.
  • Performs routine building, ground maintenance, and custodial as assigned.
  • Attends all required trainings and meetings.
  • Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the Joint Council for
  • Economic Opportunity, Inc.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate's degree (A. A.) and four years experience in an energy, housing, or rehabilitation field with supervisory background.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems with clients and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
Must possess a valid driver's license. Must obtain Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification in
Building Science Principles, Building Analyst Technician, Building Analyst Professional, Lead
Renovator, Mobile Home Mechanic, and Quality Control Inspector (QCI) certifications.
