What is Johnstone Supply NJ?

Johnstone Supply- New Jersey is a family owned HVAC/R wholesale-distributor established in 1987. Currently there are nine branch locations in Northern/Central/Southern New Jersey and one in Staten Island New York.

What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for recruiting top talent for Johnstone Supply. Interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants to fill entry-level, professional, and technical job openings. Expert in internal systems, applications, etc.
  • Enhance Local School and College relations to attract talent.
  • Supports HR Partnering with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, and standards.
  • Facilitates or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce. Expert in our training database/application.
  • Provides recommendations to the HR team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs and HR systems.
  • Works with head of benefits to perform benefits administration, by communicating information, maintaining internal systems, and assisting employees with their benefits during new hire orientation, qualifying events, and open enrollment.
  • Assists in running and evaluating reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvement in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

Required Qualifications:

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with HR systems and hourly as well as salaried/hard-to-fill recruiting is critical; Training coordination experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational, analytical and project management skills.
  • Detail orientated, proactive, and driven to execute high quality work on time.
  • Ability to multi-task and work on various projects simultaneously keeping them on track and providing clear status updates.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, bilingual is a plus.
  • Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently while keeping manager and management team informed appropriately and timely.
  • Independent judgement with recruitment applications and training coordination while also giving solid recommendations on process and strategy.
