Their main duties include locating and diagnosing maintenance problems on equipment, conducting warranty services, and quickly performing emergency repairs on certain equipment items.

1. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
   1. Work requires a high school level of educational development and four years of HVAC Apprenticeship experience.
   2. Maryland Class C driver’s license required.
   3. Certification as Journeyman HVAC Mechanic required.
   4. Work requires the analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
   5. Work requires the ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain Medical Center policies, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel.
   6. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors, and/or Medical Center employees. More sensitive situations may be referred to others as appropriate.

1. Work requires working with equipment or performing procedures where carelessness would probably result in minor cuts, bruises, or muscle strains.
