The program focuses on software and hardware system integration, cutting-edge research and development, and manufacturing work for the US Navy. As an electrical engineer, you’ll be a member of or lead a cross functional team supporting the for the Torpedos program. What sets you apart: Proficient using electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and mixed Signal circuit analysis/design. Habitually ahead of technology trends, with background in test, troubleshooting, and reading circuit card schematics. Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design. Research & Development experience including concept, design, modeling, prototyping, and testing. Collaborative team player committed to ongoing professional development for yourself and others. Analyze and design analog and digital electronic circuits including signal conditioning, power, analog-to-digital conversion, and communication. Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware. Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems including test software applications. Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions. Design, analyze, and test underwater acoustic systems. Design and build prototype cable assemblies. Perform solder rework of prototype circuit card assemblies. Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer. Generate design and interface documentation Experience with the engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation and test phases Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of common communication interfaces such as Ethernet, RS-485, USB, CAN bus, LVDS, and protocols such as TCP and UDP Experience in analog and digital circuit design including signal integrity principles. Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including: creation of high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry (OrCAD Capture experience a plus), and working with the PCB layout team to optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment, etc. Strong documentation and communication skills. Experience with MATLAB programming a plus.
