Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Bar Manager to lead our bar team and oversee all aspects of our beverage program. The Bar Manager will be responsible for curating an innovative and diverse drink menu, ensuring the highest standards of quality and service, and driving profitability for the bar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a creative and seasonal cocktail menu that showcases Japanese flavors and ingredients, as well as a curated selection of premium sake, wine, and spirits.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise bar staff, providing guidance on cocktail preparation techniques, product knowledge, and service standards.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking of bar supplies, and implement strategies to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
  • Monitor beverage sales and profitability, analyze trends, and develop strategies to drive revenue growth and enhance the guest experience.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, adhering to all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, communication, and professional development among bar staff.
  • Provide exceptional hospitality to guests, engaging with them to recommend drinks, answer questions, and ensure their satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless coordination between the bar and dining areas, facilitating a cohesive and memorable dining experience.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, new products, and techniques, and incorporate them into the beverage program as appropriate.
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a timely and professional manner, striving to resolve issues to the satisfaction of the guest.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in bartending or beverage management, preferably in a high-end restaurant or cocktail bar setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of cocktails, spirits, sake, and wine, with a passion for mixology and a commitment to quality and creativity.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of bartenders and barbacks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on guest satisfaction and team collaboration.
  • Proficiency in inventory management, cost control, and financial analysis.
  • ServSafe Alcohol certification or equivalent responsible beverage service training is required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
